Mayor, Mum, Researcher, Runner, Business Owner

“I wanted to bring the voice of families with younger children”.

Rehette Stoltz has been actively involved in local government for over 12 years, driven by the desire to represent families with young children and ensure that their voices are heard loud and clear when it comes to important decisions on things like walkways, libraries, museums, and playgrounds.

She brings a diverse background to the table as a business owner and in scientific research having previously completed a master’s degree in Cardiovascular Physiology.

For Rehette, local government isn't just a job; it's a rollercoaster of rewards, surprises, and challenges. It's a front-row seat to shaping communities. She believes councils have a direct influence on how communities look and operate, making it crucial for people to have their say and actively engage in decision-making processes that directly impact their everyday lives.

Rehette's passion extends to her love for her rohe and community in Tairawhiti Gisborne. The region's beautiful beaches, abundant sunshine, and warm-hearted people make it an exceptional place to raise a family, work, and enjoy life.

Outside of her work, Rehette finds joy in pounding the pavement on a run, pottering around her home and garden, and soaking up precious moments with her whānau.
